Scroll Saw Group

th.jpg

A scroll saw is a small electric saw used to cut intricate curves in wood, metal, or other materials. The fineness of its blade allows it to cut incredibly complex designs.

The scroll saw group meets regularly for a few hours where they exchange ideas and plans and there are a number of expert users who can provide advice to both newcomers and experienced users alike.

Many members of the group bring their own machines, however the club has a number of scroll saws available for members who don't have their own saw, and this is ideal for members who want to have a go at scroll sawing.  The machines are available for use by members during the scroll saw group sessions or other open workshop sessions.

The two items on the left were created by club members and exhibited at our annual exhibition during the Eltham Festival. The lower piece was also a First Prize winner at the Royal Melbourne show.
